About Back Mountain Design
So, you want to know about me? Well, my name is J.T. and, by day, I am an actor and improv performer. About two years ago, like many actors, artists, and performers before me, I decided to put up a website up that would allow me to promote upcoming shows and keep other industry folks up to date on my work. After scouring the web and looking at a variety of cookie cutter template websites and design firms that would cost more than the rent for my New York apartment, I decided to build it myself. I have always been a closeted computer geek (raise your hand if you had a Commodore 64!) and this gave me a new reason to get my hands dirty, technically speaking. Plus, I wanted to create something that was not only effective, but also represented “me” in a way that no template could.
So, I began to learn the ins and outs of HTML, XML, CSS and, after much trial and error, my site was up and running. Since then, I’ve kept learning, designed a few other sites here and there for shows and found that I not only really enjoy it, I seem to have a knack for it as well.
Which brings us to now. I started Back Mountain Design because I want to help other artistic folks carve out their own unique place on the web. Whether you’re an actor, an artist, a theatre company…or maybe just someone who has something they want to share with the world, my goal is to listen, get to know you, and work with you to design a site that accomplishes your goals and is uniquely and undeniably “YOU”.
Have a look around and, if you like what you see, get in touch. Until then, keep on keepin’ on.
